For many years the sand industry and other material processors have been faced with mounting costs when their materials, if quarried wet have to be stockpiled to allow gravity drainage to take place before they are eventually force dried in kilns or oil fired furnaces.
Conscious of the high price of heating oils Moisture Reduction Systems Company’s present design team carried out the original research and development program into accelerated vacuum assisted drainage systems. The ensuing conclusions showed that pumping from a horizontal special pre-wrapped drainage pipe, installed under each stockpile, interconnected to a manifold, coupled direct onto an automatic self-priming electrically driven centrifugal pump set, fitted with a very large air handling capacity oil flood lubricated vacuum pump, proved that drying times were substantially reduced, which led to considerable cost savings.
